Rust-Oleum Packaging Strategy
Packaging Design / Visual Identity Concepts / Portfolio Expansion
Professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts demand reliability and performance. Inspired by these core user needs, we developed packaging design updates and visual strategy concepts across select aerosol and specialty coating product lines for Rust-Oleum. The scope included designing private-label retail spray paint lines, and exploring brand naming and packaging concepts.
Leak Seal Packaging
We refreshde the visual identity and packaging system for Leak Seal, creating a modern shelf presence that visually communicates the product's protective, weather-resistant focus. We led an identity exploration that informed custom graphic elements and product illustrations designed to highlight key brand features and application types clearly.
Our involvement included:
Visual Identity Refresh
Packaging Graphics & Layout
Custom Product Illustration
Color-Coded Product System
Label Formats & Application Guidelines
Identity Development
The visual identity was designed to visually communicate the core theme of moisture protection. The custom letterform integrates a water droplet shape within the letter "A," paired with a grounding base mark that symbolizes a protective barrier—creating a clear, memorable brand mark tailored for retail packaging.

Pro Series: MegaMark
Brand Identity Concepts / Label Graphics / Visual System Exploration / Color Coding System / Structural Packaging Concept
Developed the product naming strategy, vertical label graphics, and visual identity for a high-capacity inverted spray paint line. The layout features a vertical mark and custom application graphics tailored for inverted container formats, paired with a streamlined "Pro Series" category hierarchy designed to maximize retail shelf impact.
Inspiration & Development
Our design process began by evaluating how contractors and tradespeople interact with the product packaging on the job site. By researching real-world user workflows and field environments, we gained key insights that informed the brand positioning, visual cues, and packaging hierarchy for the final design system.
